Return to HomeGood morning!!
Train at 6:30 to get to the airport!
Back on a plane again. This time security was really easy though. And apparently they don't have a volume limit for liquids!
Mandatory flight selfie
We had to wait for them to remove a bird that had been hit bay a plane...:(
Hellooo Melbourne!!
First stop: Rosso Espresso Bar
My first coffee in 2-3 weeks!
Honestly not overwhelmingly good, it has not made me relapse
This looks like Saruman's tower in Lord of the Rings!
Lunch
And it's a chicken parma baguette for me!!
I feel like that's a Melbourne thing: "Chicken parma", sure we have it in Sydney, but I don't feel like it's as popular.
I know it was Gustaf's go-to dinner after band practice (not in a baguette though)
Speaking of Gustaf
Here is where he lived
Mikko and I walked to Carlton Gardens to eat our lunch!
Remember Carlton?
Royal Exhibition Building
Melbourne Museum
Phar Lap was apparently this beloved hero horse that died quite early. Half the floor about Melbourne was about this house...
Old City map of Melbourne!
Real life (almost) Australian emblem!
Huuuuge dinosaurs!!
Fitzroy
Found this lovely "Morning Market"
Got to stand in line and feel like a cool local
Hot cross bun!!
We had a hot cross bun, as suggested by Mia!
Not at all what I expected, had a taste of orange peel, and as you see in the photos, contained raisins.
Free on Saturday?
If you are free on Saturday and look like Jason Statham, first of all, who are you and why are you reading my blog?? and secondly, here is a tip if you are in Melbourne next Saturday
Amazing wine shop!!
Gustaf was very kind and gave me his local transport card
Only drawback was that I was now in debt -70¢ to the city of Melbourne...
Luckily, they have a free-zone in CBD, so after debating if we should get of or not (since we couldn't pay) we had already entered the free-zone!
Home sweet home
Yes that's ours. This is Australia 108, which is the tallest residential building in Australia! We're on floor 52.
But not too easy to find how to get in...
...Queue the music
We are home!
Melbourne nightlife
First stop: HER
Some tea-infused cocktail
And Mikko had a pinot noir from Australia
I FaceTime Gustf quickly to see where we should go next. Berlin bar was one option but the strongest recommendation was Whitehart
2nd stop: Whitehart
Amazing place with a DJ playing inside and a granny dancing. All alone, just for the love of dancing, not for performing!
Final stop: Home
Evening snack before going to bed.
With a pretty amazing view!
